{Tell Me Something Tuesday} Reading Habits

It's Tuesday and I'm linking up over at Tell Me Something Tuesday hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings. This week's question of the week features reading habits. How have your reading habits changed since you started blogging?

I've been a reader for as long as I can remember. As a girl I was obsessed with The Babysitter's Club and Goosebumps books and as I got older, I got into primarily into suspense and romance books. I loved reading, but I wasn't reading like I do now.

I first started blogging when my son was just a baby. I'm a single mom and I was at home with every day. Babies sleep a lot and I needed something to do so I read. I went through book after book and then I began typing my thoughts up and sharing them with other bloggers and readers. Now fast forward to five years later:

  • I read a lot more books now than I used to. I think every book blogger can say this. When you're a blogger, you follow book related pages, authors, you befriend authors and bloggers on social media and you become aware of new releases, upcoming releases and new authors and it makes your TBR list grow like crazy and of course you NEED to read all those books you see. I average reading about 5-7 books a week.
  • My reading genres have become more diversified. I still love suspense and romance, but I also read a lot of NA, some YA and even some historical.
  • Finding time to reread books is so hard. My TBR list is a mile long and I'm adding to it daily.
  • I use my Kindle a lot more than I used to. I always preferred physical books before blogging, but now I am able to take my Kindle everywhere and receive ARCs on it, so I read on it about 90% of time.
  • I know WHO I'm reading. Before I would walk into a bookstore or library and pick up a book, not knowing anything about the author. Now I know those authors and I stalk those authors.

  1. Yes, yes and yes. I nodded my head to all of your points. I totally changed that way too. I never have time to reread books anymore because I am always reaching for the next one. Thanks for being a part of TMST!
