{Release Blitz} Lachlan's Protégé by V.F. Mason

Title: Lachlan's Protégé
Author: V.F. Mason
Genre: Dark Romance Standalone
Release Date: August 16, 2018

She never knew nightmares.
Until she became mine.
She was a ballerina.
He was a serial killer.
She ran away from him.
He caught her.
She begged for mercy.
He gave her none.
She was an angel.
He was a monster.
She wanted to escape.
He wanted to destroy her.
They were at war.
And only one of them would win.

Once upon a time, an angel and a monster fell in love.

I picked up Lachlan's Protégé not knowing what to expect. I had never read a book written by V.F. Mason, but the blurb called out to me. Once I began reading though, I was intrigued. Lachlan's Protégé is dark, intense and deep. The book itself is well-written and the author writes in a way that allows the reader to visualize everything that is going on as if you are right there in that moment yourself.

Lachlan is dark and dangerous. His soul is black, but he has a reason for doing what he does. Mason leaves readers wondering, guessing throughout the story which really keeps you on the edge of suspense. Valencia is a strong female character and the chemistry between Lachlan and Valencia is palpable. My only downside to Lachlan's Protégé is that we're told that these two share an intimate past, however it doesn't go into much detail about said past.

I was fully engaged throughout the entirety of the book. The author provides so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Mason managed to blow me away with this dark, intense read and I look forward to see what comes from this author next.

Warning: There may be triggers for some.

V.F. Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn't happen.
Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it.When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
